RIYADH: Magrabi Health has marked its 70th anniversary in Riyadh, celebrating seven decades of pioneering achievements in specialized healthcare and reaffirming its commitment to patient-centered medical innovation across the Middle East.
Founded in 1955 by the late Dr. Amin El-Maghraby the first ophthalmologist in Saudi Arabia Magrabi Health began as the region’s first private specialized eye center.
In 1975, Dr. Akef El-Maghraby expanded the legacy by opening the first private eye hospital in the Kingdom.
Today, Magrabi Health operates more than 40 hospitals and medical centers across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, and Yemen, offering expert care in Eye, ENT, Dental, and most recently, Aesthetics through its Mayam Aesthetics brand.
Speaking on the milestone, Magrabi Health CEO Mr. Mutasim Alireza said: “As Magrabi Health marks 70 years of excellence, we reflect with pride on a legacy built on trust, dedication, and life-changing impact.

With over 2 million patients screened and 200,000 surgeries conducted annually, Magrabi Health has established itself as a leader in ophthalmology.
It now seeks to replicate this success in Dentistry and ENT. Its dental network has grown from seven clinics to 200 chairs, with plans for further expansion through strategic acquisitions.
The group is also entering the aesthetics space with the launch of Mayam Aesthetics in Jeddah and upcoming centers in Riyadh.
Magrabi Health’s approach centers on personalized, sub-specialized care supported by top medical talent, AI-enabled diagnostics, and adherence to international standards.
It also measures and continuously improves patient experience through robust feedback systems.
Deputy CEO and COO Dr. Abdulrahman Barzangi emphasized the organization's focus on innovation and social responsibility, stating: “We’ve led the region in adopting technologies like AI-powered diagnostics and continue to engage in community outreach, free screenings, and public health campaigns.”
